Bryn Thomas Cranes are delighted to welcome yet another addition to their fleet – the Spierings SK1265-AT6.
Costing in excess of £1 million, it is the largest and most powerful mobile tower crane currently on the market and joins their already extensive task force.
And this isn’t the first time Bryn Thomas have gone big with their investments. Committed to supplying customers with the very latest crane innovations, and the best lifting equipment in the industry, this is their second Spiering purchase in just 12 months.
The biggest mobile tower crane
The six-axle Spierings SK1265-AT6 is the largest mobile tower crane in the world.
The hydraulic folding crane has a radius of 60 metres with a maximum tip load of 1.7 tonnes. Despite its huge size, the SK1265-AT6 features a powerful engine and a high-performance pneumatic brake system to enhance safety on-site.
It can be easily driven, assembled and operated by a single operator – taking little more than 11 minutes – without the need for additional ballast or jib sections.
Extendible jib technology
Spierings developed the extendible jib technology to increase the radius of their mobile tower cranes, and the SK1265-AT6 maximises on this.
Whilst the mobile crane achieves a radius of 60 metres with a maximum tip load of 1.7 tonnes, and a maximum capacity of 132 tm (tonne metres), the extendible jib delivers an additional 8 metres of jib length.
Hydraulic motions
Crane movements are hydraulic. This not only delivers maximum precision and efficiency but also makes the crane easier to operate.
With the Spierings SK1265-AT6, the upper engine drives three hydraulic pumps and ensures no interference from insufficient components.
On top of this, several refinements have been made to improve fine-tuned accuracy, precision and control.
