Following on from its multiple crane deal with Liebherr back in 2016, Bryn Thomas Cranes Ltd has recently taken delivery of yet another LTM 1040-2.1.
This would be the third 1040-2.1 added to the fleet within two months. This machine will be based at the company’s Durham depot which had been purchased to service a new contract award for the North East.
The LTM 1040-2.1 is a compact 2-axle crane with both axles driven and steerable ensuring excellent all-terrain capability and manoeuvrability on even the most confined building sites. It has great operational flexibility due to maximum capacities with full and partial ballast.
With a maximum load capacity of 40 tonnes, the LTM 1040-2.1 offers outstanding load carrying performance over the entire operating area. A maximum lifting height of 44 m can be achieved with the 35 m long, continuously variable 4-section telescopic boom, which uses the hydro-mechanical telescoping system to extend to the required length quickly. The telescoping operation can also be performed under load.
Other features include sensitive working by electronic crane control and LICCON2 control with mobile display unit BTT. And with pneumatic disc brakes now fitted as standard on this model, maintenance costs are lower and braking more efficient.
Dylan Thomas, Managing Director, commented: ‘We are very pleased to take delivery of our third 40t Liebherr within two months. This new addition will enhance the Company’s capacity to service its loyal client base with the very best brand and crane in its class.’ Our continued investment will continue throughout 2017 with Liebherr as a reliable supply partner.
